We replace Jeep keys anywhere in Jacksonville. Spare keys and fobs start at $150, all keys lost at $195. A mobile locksmith comes to you, usually within 30 to 60 minutes in town, and cuts and programs the key right at your Jeep. Call or text (904) 902-4771, daily 8 AM to 8 PM.

What kind of key does your Jeep use?

Jeep keys come in three flavors, and the year matters more than the model. Older Wranglers and Compasses use a plain metal key with a transponder chip hidden in the plastic head. The engine won't crank unless it reads that chip.

From around 2008 to 2017, a lot of Jeeps moved to the Fobik. That's the all-plastic remote-head key that slides into a slot on the dash and twists like a regular key. Grand Cherokees from that era are the classic example.

Newer Jeeps run smart proximity fobs with push-to-start. The 2018-and-up Wrangler and the Gladiator sit in this bucket, and so do most Grand Cherokees from 2014 on. These fobs talk to a security gateway inside the vehicle, so programming takes real equipment, not just a blank key.

What we do at your Jeep

Everything happens at your vehicle. We've run fully mobile for the last four years, so the truck is the shop. It carries key blanks, fobs, a cutting machine, and the programming gear.

Your locksmith cuts the emergency blade and programs the chip or fob to your Jeep, then tests the doors and the start before leaving. Most calls inside Jacksonville get us to you in roughly 30 to 60 minutes, though a wreck on I-95 can stretch that.

We cover Jacksonville and about 50 miles around it. A driveway in Riverside, a parking garage off Butler Blvd, the shoulder of I-295 — wherever the Jeep sits is where we work. Call or text (904) 902-4771 and tell us where you're parked.

Spare key vs. all keys lost

A spare starts at $150. If you've still got one working key, that's the cheap insurance play, because we just cut and program a duplicate in one visit. Fob and remote programming also starts at $150.

Lost every key? That's a from-$195 job, since we build a key from scratch instead of copying one. We'll ask for your ID and the registration or title before cutting. That step protects you, because nobody should be able to order a key to your Jeep except you.

Locked out with the keys sitting on the passenger seat? Door opening starts at $85. Whatever the job, the final quote gets confirmed on the phone before we drive out, based on your model year and key type, plus where you are. No hidden fees.

When the dealer makes sense

Straight talk. We handle most Jeep models and years sold in the US, but a handful of the very newest, most locked-down vehicles can only be keyed by a dealer. If yours is one of them, we'll say so on the phone before you spend a dime.

For everything else, the math usually favors the mobile route. A dealer typically wants the Jeep towed in and can take days on a key order. We meet you where it's parked, at Town Center or in a beach lot, and finish the same visit.

Not sure which camp your Jeep falls in? Text your year and model, plus a photo of the key, to (904) 902-4771. We pick up daily, 8 AM to 8 PM.

Common questions

How long does it take to program a Jeep key?

Most Jeep keys program in 15 to 30 minutes once we're at your vehicle, and the whole visit usually stays under an hour. Newer push-to-start models with the security gateway can take a little longer. All-keys-lost jobs run longer too, since we cut the key from scratch first.

Can you program a used Jeep fob I bought online?

Usually not. Most Jeep Fobiks and smart fobs lock to the first vehicle they're paired with and can't be reused. We bring new fobs we know will take to your Jeep, and the quote covers the part and the programming. If you've got a genuinely new, correct fob already, ask when you call and we'll give you an honest answer.

Is a locksmith cheaper than the Jeep dealer for a replacement key?

In most cases, yes. Spare keys start at $150 with us and we come to your location, while the dealer route usually means towing the Jeep in and waiting on a key order. For a small number of the very newest models the dealer is the only option, and we'll tell you that up front instead of costing you an afternoon.

My Jeep is push-to-start and I lost every key. Can you still make one?

Yes, for most models. All-keys-lost service starts at $195, and we generate and program a new smart fob right at the vehicle. Have your ID and the registration or title handy, since we verify ownership before cutting a key. Call or text (904) 902-4771 with your year and model for an exact quote.
