Toyota Key Replacement in Jacksonville

We replace Toyota keys anywhere in Jacksonville and about 50 miles around it. Spares run from $150, all-keys-lost from $195, and we cut and program right at your car. Most in-town calls get a locksmith in roughly 30 to 60 minutes. Call or text (904) 902-4771, daily 8 AM to 8 PM, for an exact quote before we drive out.

What kind of key does your Toyota use?

Depends on the year. Toyotas from the early 2000s mostly use a basic transponder key, a metal key with a small chip hidden in the plastic head. The car won't start without that chip, even if the cut is perfect.

Through the 2010s Toyota moved to G-chip and H-chip transponders. Look at the metal blade on your key and you'll often find a tiny G or H stamped near the base. That letter matters, because the two chips program differently.

Newer Camrys, RAV4s and Highlanders mostly went push-to-start with a smart proximity fob that stays in your pocket. Prius drivers have had those fobs since way back.

Not sure what you've got? Text a photo of your key and the year of the car to (904) 902-4771 and we'll tell you.

We cut and program at your car

There's no shop to visit and nothing to tow. A locksmith drives to you with key blanks and programming gear in the van, and we set up wherever the car sits, from a driveway in Mandarin to a parking deck near the Town Center.

Cutting the blade takes a few minutes. Programming the chip or fob usually runs 10 to 20 minutes on most Toyotas, so a typical spare-key visit wraps up well under an hour once we arrive.

Most calls inside Jacksonville see a locksmith in roughly 30 to 60 minutes. Traffic on Butler Blvd at 5 PM can stretch that, and we'd rather say so than promise a window we can't hit.

Spare key vs. all keys lost

A spare is the easy job. If you still have one working key, we cut and program a duplicate from $150, and your Toyota barely notices.

Lose every key and the job changes. We have to make a key from scratch and get the immobilizer to accept it, so all-keys-lost work starts at $195. If the ignition itself is acting up, repairs start at $299.

Every price here is a starting point, not a trap. Tell us the year and model on the phone and we'll confirm the real number before anyone drives out. No hidden fees.

One more thing on all-keys-lost jobs. We'll ask for your ID and proof of ownership, registration or title, before we cut anything. That check protects you, because it means nobody can order a key to your Toyota just by pointing at it.

When the dealer is the better call

Honestly, sometimes it is. A handful of the very newest, tightest-locked models keep their key data sealed up tight, and for those the dealership can be the only option.

For most Toyotas on Jacksonville roads, though, we handle the whole job at your car, usually for less than the dealer route costs once you add the tow. No waiting days for a service appointment either.

We're independent locksmiths, by the way, not affiliated with Toyota or any dealership. Model names on this page are only there to tell you what we can service.

Call or text (904) 902-4771, any day from 8 AM to 8 PM. If your model is one we can't do, we'll say so on the phone and save you the trip.

Common questions

How long does it take to program a Toyota key?

About 10 to 20 minutes for most spares and fobs once we're at your car. All-keys-lost jobs take longer, usually 30 to 60 minutes, because we're making the key from scratch and working with the immobilizer. Older transponder keys tend to go quicker than smart fobs.

Can you program a used Toyota fob I found on eBay?

Usually not, and we'd rather tell you before you spend the money. Most Toyota smart fobs lock to the first vehicle they're paired with and won't take a second car. We bring fresh keys and fobs that pair cleanly with Toyota systems, so you're not gambling on a secondhand one.

Are you cheaper than the Toyota dealer?

Usually, yes, once you count the tow a dealer visit tends to require. We also come to you, most times the same day, instead of booking you out. That said, a few of the newest models are dealer-only, and we'll tell you straight if yours is one of them.

I lost every key to my Camry. Can you still make one?

Yes, we make Toyota keys from scratch at your car, starting at $195. Have your ID and the registration or title handy, since we verify ownership before cutting a new key. That step protects you as the owner. Most all-keys-lost calls around Jacksonville get done the same day.
